Want to be a member of ACFA?
The Association of Consulting Foresters of Australia (ACFA) was established in 1978 in response to the need to promote and protect the credibility and competence of Australia's consulting foresters. It operates under the auspices of the Institute of Foresters of Australia.
Both the public and private sectors need access to independent, objective and non-political assessments of current and proposed forest activities which are reliable and have the backing of a recognized professional association.
The use of consultants to undertake specified tasks is common in many industries: consultants are able to provide unbiased specialist inputs to a particular project at competitive rates. Forestry consultants may be employed as individuals or may form part of a team drawing on expertise from a range of members.
Together, ACFA and the IFA represent a strong base of skilled, qualified and professionally consulting foresters accredited by the Institute’s Registered Professional Forester (RPF) Schem.
